Spider-Man reboot

A reboot of a franchise that doesn't even need a reboot, it's not even a decade old! And to make matters worse:

Yeah, imagine Spider-Man, only more like Twilight. Why, God, why?

...Good news is, though, at least this will free up some time for Sam Raimi to work on Evil Dead 4!

I'm surprised the studios would allow him to direct that movie without forming a contract first. It's a huge name that could cost them millions of dollars just because he didn't feel like it.
And Spiderman was already like Twilight in Spiderman 3.

I didn't really notice any similarity between Spider-Man 3 and Twilight, what with Peter Parker acting like the most hilarious douchebag I've ever seen, and with Sandman, Venom, and a new Green Goblin there.

Supposedly, the big disagreement was that Sam Raimi wanted the Vulture in Spider-Man 4, but Sony was pressing for a more profitable villain, probably Carnage.

Spiderman turns into an emo pretty boy with fancy "dark" powers. You make the call.

Mmmm... I guess. At least Mary Jane wasn't a stupid bitch who just went along with it.

Also, just wondering, did you think the original Spider-Man trilogy was s***? Not just Spider-Man 3, but all three movies?

Spiderman 1 was a solid movie in terms of both plot and action.
Spiderman 2 had a weak plot but good action scenes.
Spiderman 3 was pretty bad all-around.

An article explaining why everyone, myself included, should be pissed off about the reboot:

Edit:

Marc Webb confirmed to be director of Spider-Man reboot, plus details about the movie itself:

Plus, another article:

The budget will be $80 million dollars, that pretty much guarantees the movie will be light on action and special effects, which really sucks, seeing as with Spider-Man, I LOVE seeing him swinging through the city, fighting bad guys (especially the likes of Sandman), and doing all sorts of stunts.

Not to mention they're going to retell the origin story, which may be alright, but I think after all the TV shows, comics and the previous movie series, who DOESN'T know the origin by now?
