Saw the new movie Avatar tonight...

...and it was well worth it!

James Cameron really out did himself on this with the effects and CGI... The graphics in this makes the star wars prequels, the entire lord of the rings trilogy, and all other prior movies involving cgi look like super pixelated, 1930s King Kong era effects...

The story has a bit of imperialistic basis IMO reflective of the conquest of the North and South American Continents and grave misunderstandings during the clash of the cultures.

I don't want to go into the plot though but this is definitely the movie to see this holiday season...

IMO this is the best SciFi Fantasy to be made since the entire original Star Wars saga and just as innovative.

A few fun facts... Actual Live Action filming was finished back in 2006!!!! Since then they've been working on the effects. Know what else? They had to invent brand new camera technology to film it... Rumor has it the studio behind it had a budget for the film about 300-400 million dollars... My guess is that will surely be paid off in probably a few days to a week now...

Even if you don't like the story that much after watching all 162 minutes of it...besides the last 45 minutes being beyond Epic descriptions...you might as well see it for the EXTREME eye candy this film has!

Plus it's in 3D! That's just about enough reason to see ANY film LOL!

I'll have to see this soon. Maybe next week, my dad got an AMC gift card, and we have some ticket vouchers I think. I just don't want to see it in 3-D, it's really annoying with my glasses.
