Big Bob-ombFirst appearence: Super Mario 64
Likes: Explosions, and Grooming his Mustache
Dislikes: People making fun of his Mustache
The Baron of Blasting Matter! The King of Kabooms the world over! The Big Bob-omb!!!!!!! He once started a war over his mustache, and he was also at war with the Bob-omb buddies. He was located on top of a mountain, but to get up the mountain you had to get past Bob-ombs and rolling bombs. Once you got to the top, you had to beat him, and so the battle begins. In Super Mario 64 DS, you had to grab the Bob-ombs he threw at you and throw them back at him three times. Then after you beat him, he says he will get his revenge. In a later course, you had to be Mario, Luigi, or Wario to be able to beat him. This is the same battle with him as the one previously in Super Mario 64. You have to run around him and grab him from behind and throw him three times. He was in a more recent appearence in Mario Superstar Baseball. He is in one of the Mini-games where you have to hit Bob-ombs. If the game selects the form of him, he will become the ball and be shot at you. The games that he appears in are as follows... Super Mario 64, Super Mario 64 DS, and Mario Superstar Baseball.

BirdoFirst appearance: Super Mario Bros.2
Likes: Shooting eggs
Dislikes:Being hit with her own eggs
Birdo first appeared as a boss at the end of the level who shot eggs in an attempt to kill you. In order to kill her, you had to pick up her own eggs and hit her three times. If you could do that, she would spew out a crystal that allows you to open the crow's mouth to exit the level. Birdo is usually pink but comes in many colors such as, Red which shot out fire balls and eggs, and Green which shot out only fire balls. To defeat it, you had to find a mushroom block to throw at her. In order to advance in world 4-3 in SMB2, you needed to ride her egg. Lately, she is becoming good, some even say that she is Yoshi's girlfriend. The games she appears in are as follows... 1988's Super Mario Bros.2; 1994's tutorial of Wario's Woods; 1995's Super Mario RPG (she appeared as a boss inside an egg); 2000 you could play as Birdo in Mario Tennis; 2001 she was in the background of SMB2 stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee; 2003 she appeared in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour ; Mario Kart Double Dash (she was a partner with Yoshi); Mario and Luigi SuperStar Saga (she was in love with the thief Popple); 2004 she appeared in the audience in the game Mario Power Tennis; 2005 she appears in Mario Party 7 as a new character, and in Super Mario Baseball she is one of the team captains.

Bowser KoopaFirst Appearance: Super Mario Bros, October 1985
Likes: Princess Peach, being mean, his children, the Koopalings
Dislikes: Mario Bros.!, his plans failing, bad guys stealing his shtick
Big, bad, and ugly all rolled into one, Bowser is one of Mario's fiercest enemies! He controls a vast number of minions, not to mention his seven children (or eight, counting Bowser Jr.), which he uses to carry out his evil schemes! Bowser has tried many attempts to defeat the Mario Bros., including kidnapping Peach (numerous times), invading the Mushroom World (Super Mario Bros. 3), kidnapping the Yoshis (Super Mario World), kidnapping Luigi (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island), kidnapping Mario (Mario is Missing), taking over Peach's castle and using the Power Stars to control it (Super Mario 64), stealing the Star Rod (Paper Mario), and tricking his youngest son, Bowser Jr., into thinking Peach was his mother (Super Mario Sunshine)! And yet, after all of that, he still keeps trying.
However, even though Bowser is Mario's archenemy, they have teamed up on occasion. In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Bowser teamed up with Mario in order to get his Keep back from Smithy, the evil Lord of Weapons! And in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Bowser and the Mario Bros. decided to join forces to get Princess Peach’s voice back from the evil witch, Cackletta, even though that didn’t last very long. Having Bowser as an ally is a very wise decision, as he is very powerful! He has a variety of attacks, including his trademarked fire breath, his Bowser Bomb (like Mario’s ground pound), and his powerful Chain Chomp toss! And even though he has a shell, he hardly ever hides in it! With so many attacks, numerous minions, and his powerfully built body, Bowser is a constant threat to the Mushroom Kingdom!

DaisyFirst Appearance: Super Mario Land, 1989
Likes: Flowers, Luigi, Princess Peach
Dislikes: Boredom, Tatanga, Bowser (pretty much everyone hates Bowser)
The cheery Tomboy princess of Sarasaland. Her first appearance was in Super Mario Land, where she was kidnapped by the evil alien, Tatanga, until rescued by Mario. After that, she didn't appear in any games for 10 years (with the exception of NES Open Tournament Golf, as she mad a cameo as Luigis caddie), until Mario Tennis for the nintendo 64. Since then, she's been a Mario regular in the series!
Though once the mirror image of Princess Peach, she now sports her own look, including brown hair, bigger and rounder eyes, and a yellow dress, complete with a flower broch and flower earrings. Like her image, her personality has also changed from what was more of a clumsy girl (like Luigi) to the cheery Tomboy she is today.
And as far as relationships go, although she was rescued by Mario, they seem to be no more then acquantences (Mario rescues damsels in distress all the time). She and Peach seem to be really friendly with each other, since they are both princesses and both are the few girls that are in Mario games. Her most noticable relationship, though, is betweenher and Luigi. There have been many hints and rumors toward this fact, as even Nintendo adds to it, though they haven't "offically" said anything. For the time being, it's safe to assume that they are steady, growing lovers.
Daisy has appeared in Super Mario Land, NES Open Tournament Golf, Mario Tennis (N64), Mario Party 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Mario Kart Double Dash!!, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Kart DS, and Super Mario Strikers. She was also a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Donkey KongFirst Appearance: Donkey Kong, 1981
Likes: Bananas, parties, drums (preferably bongos)
Dislikes: King K. Rool, someone stealing his bananas, bananas gone bad
Donkey Kong. The Ape that started it all (actually, he's not an ape, but whatever)!
He's a giant gorilla who loves to party almost as much as he loves Bananas! He's always seen with his trademark tie, and he even has his own franchise!
He was the villain in the arcade game Donkey Kong, in which Mario had to save a young maiden, Pauline, from his clutches. Needless to say, the rivalry of Mario and Donkey Kong go way back!
However, after a few early DK games, which had other classic characters such as DK Jr. and Stanley the Bugman, Donkey Kong starred in his own game, Donkey Kong Country, which introduced his best buddy, Diddy Kong, his father/grandfather, Cranky Kong, his arch-enemy, King K. Rool, and other characters such as Funky Kong, Candy Kong, and animal buddies Rambi, Enguarde, Expresso, Winky, and Squawks. Other DK games would feature other friends of DK such as Dixie Kong, Wrinkly Kong, Kiddy Kong, Swanky Kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, and Chunky Kong.
For a while, it seemed as though Mario and Donkey Kong had settled their rivalry, until it was rekindled in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. In it, DK wanted some of the new Mini Mario toys, but they were sold out. Desperate for some, he burst into the Mini Mario factory and stole a whole bunch of them. Mario chased after DK to retrieve them all. Thus, the Mario-DK rivalry was on, again.
DK has been featured in hundreds of games. The ones he starred in, though, are Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Junior, Donkey Kong 3, Donkey Kong (Game Boy), Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Land, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Donkey Konga, Donkey Konga 2, DK: King of Swing, and Donkey Kong Jr. Math. Games to come are Donkey Kong Wii, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, Donkey Konga 3 (Japan), DK Bongo Blast, and DK: King of Swing DS. Donkey Kong as also been featured in Mario spin-offs such as Tennis, Golf, Baseball, the upcoming Mario Hoops 3-on-3, most of the Mario Kart games, and all of the Mario Party games!

KamekKamek, Chief Magikoopa
First Appearance: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (1995)
Likes: Casting spells, being evil, reading
Dislikes: Mario Bros., Yoshis, losing
During Bowser's childhood, he was taken care of by the powerful MALE magikoopa, Kamek. While Bowser did have technical control over his army, Kamek gave most of the orders, particularly to the strange Koopa species, the Toadies. Kamek's power is higher then that of a normal Magikoopa, making him Chief commander of Bowser's army! for a time, that is. By now, Kamek has grown older, and lost a bit of his power. He has retired into the Beanbean Kingdom and took up hypnosis. Bowser doesn't seem to mind, as his replacement was Kammy Koopa, another talented magikoopa. Though there is no clear relationship between her and Kamek, there has been rumor that they were close students or even brother and sister! But there's no indication of that. And although Kamek seems to be retired, he has also appeared in Mario Party 5 and 6, Mario Party Advance, and Yoshi Touch n' Go! And when players do see him, be careful! He's one crafy Maikoopa!

Luigi MarioFirst Appearance: Mario Bros, 1983
Likes: His brother, Mario, Princess Daisy (a rumor), green stuff
Dislikes: Ghosts!, Waluigi, evil (overall)
Luigi, Mario's brother, seemed to always be left out of the spotlight, but Luigi IS a hero in his own right! He's saved Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom numerous times, and is very well proud of it all! Like his brother, Luigi is also well known for his jumping, but what really sets him apart from Mario is his ability to jump higher and run slightly faster then Mario! Also like his brother, Luigi is also good with a hammer, but in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, an RPG featuing both the Mario brothers, Luigi has learned what is known as the Thunderhand, which allows him to shoot lighting from his hand! His Green Missile, learned for Super Smash Bros. Melee, is one of his most powerful attacks, which is shooting himself forward in a blazing green blast! Luigi is one lean, green, fighting machine!

Mario MarioFirst Appearance: Donkey Kong, 1981
Likes: Mushrooms, Princess Peach, his brother, Luigi
Dislikes: Bowser, Wario, stale pasta
Mario, also known as "Mr. Nintendo", occasionally, is one of video games' best heroes! Although he is best known as a plumber, he has also been a carpenter, a doctor, a boxing refree, a tennis pro, a racing kart driver, and a golfer! He started off as Donkey Kong's adversary, but then volunteered his help in ridding the Mushroom Kingdom of the evil Koopa King, Bowser, and the two have been rivals since! Mario's basic attacks include jumping, punching, and kicking, as well. He is also very good with a hammer, and can shoot fireballs! Mario has had many adventures in his time, and they are not about to end soon!

Peach ToadstoolFirst Appearance: Super Mario Bros, October 1985
Likes: Mario Bros, her subjects, cake
Dislikes: Bowser, being kidnapped, rudeness
Kind and gentle, yet strong-headed and brave, Princess Toadstool (Peach) is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. She has great fashion sense and actually a pretty good cook! When she hasn't been kidnapped (usually by Bowser), Peach oversees her people from the safety of her castle. A lot of people have been saying that Peach and Mario are "going at it", if you know what I mean, and there is a lot of proof to back it up (Peach's lines in Paper Mario for example). And can you blame them? Mario has been saving Peach for almost 20 years (FYI, Super Mario Bros. 20th anniversary is coming this October)! When she isn't being kidnapped, she likes to throw parties and host tennis and golf tournaments!
But just because she's a princess, that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to fight! One of her most basic attacks is picking up Vegetables from the ground throwing them at enemies (she first showed this off in Super Mario Bros. 2)! She also uses her parasol and sometimes, even a frying pan! But what's really unique about her is her ability to float in mid-air for a few seconds as she jumps! A most unique talent indeed, also first shown in Super Mario Bros. 2! Peach will also get to show her stuff in an upcoming DS game, Super Princess Peach! She may be a princess, but she's one tough cookie!

Petey PiranhaLikes: Piranha Plants
First Appearance: Super Mario Sunshine
Petey is the leader of the Piranha Plants who has given Mario trouble for years. He first appeared in Super Mario Sunshine as the boss of Bianco Hills. In order to defeat him, you had to spray water in his mouth to make his belly button appear and then you had to do a ground pound on his stomach 3 times to win. When you beat him, he turns into brownish gloop. Later on, we find out he didn't die but was just making himself stronger. In order to defeat him, you had to shoot a little enemy at him to begin the fight. To win, you had to shoot him with water while he was in the air to make him fall to the ground. After that, you have to fill his mouth with water to make his belly button appear then ground pound and repeat 3 times to win. He has been in other games such as Mario Kart Double Dash as an unlockable character paired with King Boo, he has also appeared in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour and Mario Power Tennis, he appeared in Mario Pinball Land as a boss in the windmill table, and he will also appear in Mario Superstar Baseball.

ToadFirst Appearance: Super Mario Bros, October 1985
Likes: Mario, Peach, Toadette, racing, tennis, baseball and other sports.
Dislikes: All enemies, especially Bowser.
Toad's quiet life as one of Princess Toadstool's loyal servants was changed forever the day Bowser descended on the Mushroom Kingdom. Toad, who was quickly moving up in status, had been assigned to guard the Kingdom's sixth castle. Bowser sent seven minions out to hunt down the princess. When Toad refused to disclose her location, he was captured and imprisoned in the very castle he was supposed to be guarding.
Days passed and finally Toad was rescued by Mario. Toad never forgot Mario for what he did. He came along with Mario on his next quest, and continues to offer help by providing Mario with items and advise to this day.
In his free time Toad enjoys playing games with Mario and his friends, but he still doesn't understand why Bowser gets invited.

WaluigiFirst Appearance: Mario Tennis, 2000, N64
Likes: Garlic, Wario, Pitching, Boxing, Cash
Dislikes: Luigi, "How's the weather up there" jokes, Fake Cash
Waluigi is an odd fellow. He's the anti-luigi, tall, ugly, and nasty, Waluigi can often be seen hanging out with his partner in crime, Wario. Often called the "Wicked Bros" the two hate Mario and Luigi, though they always seem to be invited to their parties. While Waluigi has never been in a main Mario game, he has been in nearly every sports game since Mario Tennis, in 2000, where he, of course was paired with his buddie Wario. His first Mario Party was Mario Party 3, in 2001, debuting along with Daisy in their first of many partys. He has since been in Mario Parties 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and Mario Party DS. Waluigi's athletic skills also go beyond Tennis, though he has played in several Mario Tennis games. He is one of the best pitchers in Mario Superstar Baseball, being able to throw a inhumanely slow pitch. He also has shown talent in Boxing, when he starred in Game and Watch Gallery 4, duking it out against Luigi.
Waluigi doesn't seem to have that much of a romantic life, there are rumors that he thinks of Daisy as cute, but those are just rumors. Waluigi has one huge love though, money. Like Wario, Waluigi is a greedy jerk. He loves to scoop up as many coins as he can, and will do anything to get him. Waluigi has appeared in Mario Partys 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and DS, Mario Tennis, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Strikers and Strikers Charged, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Game and Watch Gallery 4, Mario Superstar Baseball and Mario Super Sluggers, Mario Golf and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.

WarioFirst Appearance: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Likes: Garlic, Money, Treasure
Dislikes: Mario, Not Getting enough Money
Wario is unlike Mario in every way. He is not heroic. He is greedy and wears a W on his hat and is over weight, strong and loves Garlic. He is not related to Mario at all! He was once evil and stole the 6 golden coins and hid them. Mario had to go find them. He also tried to beat Mario to a Peach Statue. He has appeared in his own series called Wario Ware Inc. in which he created a bunch of Micro Games so he could make $$$$ by tricking his friends. In the Wario Ware Inc. series, he wears a Motorcycle outfit. He uses his Wario Car in both series. He once ate some spoiled garlic and became Wario Man! He appeared in his own game called Wario Land. He also appeared in Wario World in which he stole a gem that turned all the treasure in his castle into Monsters. He vowed to get all his money back from the monsters even if he had to knock it out of them. He also has a long rivalry with Captin Syrup and the Brown Sugar Pirates. To aid him in his quest ,he had various status conditions such as being turned into a flame so he could melt through blocks... etc.
The games he appeared in as a villain are, Super Mario Land 2:6 golden coins, Mario and Wario, and Wario Woods. The games he stars in are: Wario Land Super Mario Land 3, Virtual Boy Wario Land, Wario Land II, Wario Land 3, Wario Land 4, and Wario World. The Wario Ware Inc. series, Wario Ware Inc. YoshiFirst appearance: Super Mario World
Likes: Mario bros, justice
Dislikes: Bowser, Evil and being trapped in eggs.
Yoshi first appeared in Super Mario World as a friend you could ride. But he needed help getting his friends out of eggs they were trapped in by the Koopalings. We later found out that it was Yoshi who helped get Mario and Luigi to their parents in Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's island. He later started appearing in his own games such as Yoshi's story where a evil wave covered the Yoshi's home and turned them into stone the only ones who were not turned to stone were the ones who was safe in their eggs.
