History

Toad's Castle was started on June 25, 2004 as a successor to the old Home of Mario. It grew for a few weeks then died. On February 22, 2005 I decided to revive the site and start updating again.

Q: Can I use something from your site on my own site?

A: If the content you want to use is media such as screen shots that TC does not have rights to you are free to save it and use it on your site. You may not, however, link directly to any image on our servers except our banner or button.

If you would like to use any of the original content please contact us first. We can usually make an agreement to trade content.

Q: Can I submit something or help out?

A: Absolutely! See specific sections for information on submitting content or use the submit content section of the forum. If you would like to join the staff see the application below.

Q: What do you need most?

A: Guides and reviews for new Mario games. Check the coverage list to see what we're missing.

Q: When will my submission be put on the site?

A: As soon as possible. Depending on my current workload with school and other obligations submissions may take up to a month to be processed. If you convert to HTML for us the submission is put to the front of the line. If your content does not reach the site after a month email me to ensure it hasn't been misplaced.

About: Until about a year or two ago I wasn't really a fan of Nintendo but that changed when I got hold of a few classics and Nintendo's latest consoles. About: Well, I love Nintendo and pretty much hate Xbox and PS. All I play is Nintendo systems, so you get the idea. I am a Naruto fan, my favorite character is Kiba Inuzuka, and my favorite sidekick is Akamaru. Another one of my favorites is Hinata Hyuga. I love dogs and like acting like them. I have even tried dog food, and dog biscuits. Tell you the truth, the biscuits were good, but dry. I am a very nice and polite person, caring to, I don't like when other people are hurt that I care about. Thats pretty much it.

About: I was always a video game person, but it wasn't the actual game that always directly interested me, but rather the story...which is why sometimes I can't take playing Super Mario Brothers...which, to me, was horribly bland in terms of a plotline. But, nevertheless, it's a great game. Every now and then, I'd think up of a concept in my head, and make a story out of it, and come up with characters as I continue to do so. Sometimes this process takes days, sometimes months, and sometimes years. Very rarely, I make these stories into written word, mostly of which I am unsatisfied with and, subsequently, unmotivated to continue with. But, I do hope to pull through with one of my more developed ideas soon enough. Well, anyway, that's a hobby of mine, besides watching movies and cracking them like eggs...and video games. I like the colors red and black, my favorite car is the Ford GT (Not the Mustang), and my favorite band is Led Zeppelin, with The Rolling Stones and REO Speedwagon falling not far behind.

About: I've been a Nintendo Fan ever since I was a child and supported them ever since. All these years they have done great and made me stay hooked on their systems but yes as time flew by and I got older and went to high school I started going to new systems like the ps3 and such but even though I have other systems I still support Nintendo after all I grew up with Nintendo. By Far I think Besides Marduk I'm also one of the Mods here that have been here to the very day we joined Sadly the staff changed as time passed but Nevertheless its been great here. I Usually Don't like to listen to politics but supertoad makes his points too Interesting. Video Games are one of my all time favorite hobbies to do on the side besides having a girlfriend of course. Tools

The HTML, PHP, and Javascript for TC is done by hand in editors such as gEdit and cEdit.

Major graphical editing is done using The GIMP and Photoshop.

Technical Requirements

Toad's Castle is designed and tested primarily in Firefox, but should work perfectly in any modern browser. A resolution of 800x600 or greater is recommended.

Several pages make use of Javascript to enhance the interface, but no page requires it. For example, with Javascript enabled you can submit the feedback form without reloading the page, but it will still function if Javascript is disabled.

We try to make the site accessible in some form to all visitors; if you have a compatability issue, let us know.
